The Association of Investment Marketing and Sales Executives (AIMSE) announced on May 7 that the recipient of the Second AIMSE Richard A. Lothrop Outstanding Achievement Award is industry veteran and highly respected AIMSE member and Past President John H. Seiter, Executive Vice President and Director of Capital Guardian Trust Company.
The award was presented in front of 500 of Seiter’s peers and fellow AIMSE members at the AIMSE 24th Annual Investment Management Marketing & Sales Conference in Phoenix, Arizona by AIMSE President Richard E. Graf, Director, Client Service of Criterion Investment Management/West AM and John R. Rockwell, Chair of the AIMSE Awards Committee and Managing Director, T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
This prestigious award is awarded annually to an exemplary individual as recognized by his or her peers and is named in honor of Richard A. Lothrop, a former director of the Frank Russell Company and a pioneer and innovator in the investment management marketing and sales industry. Richard Lothrop is recognized as the founder of AIMSE. Lothrop died in 1984 of cancer. Lothrop’s widow, Shirley and daughter Linda Schrott were there to help present the award.
“I cannot think of an individual more deserving of this second annual award. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that would recognize a champion in our industry like John in Dick’s honor,” said Graf.
“Dick would have been very proud of this award. He had a soft spot in his heart for AIMSE and would have loved to see a fellow salesperson like John honored by this presentation,” said Shirley Lothrop.
“I am deeply moved that the members of such a prestigious organization as AIMSE would recognize me and I am honored to receive an award in the name of one our industry’s and association’s founding fathers, Dick Lothrop,” said Seiter.
The award recognized John for his efforts and activities in the investment management industry and in the community.
