Women of AIMSE: Empowerment, the Fun Way (AIMSE Women Members Only Event)
Empowerment. It’s a multi-faceted word.
In the context of female confidence and leadership, what does it really mean and what are some of the ways we can improve it?
2 WORDS – Texas Hold’Em.
Seems unlikely? Perhaps to the unfamiliar, but the act of playing poker requires confidence to bluff, to take risks, understand, as well as execute a strategy. It’s all about decision making and it’s ALL the things we need to apply in our everyday lives, but importantly, in our careers.
Power Power is on a mission to teach 1 million women+ how to negotiate, assess risk, and make decisions with confidence—from the classroom to the board room and at every seat in between. At Poker Power we know there’s a strong connection between success, money ownership, and playing every hand, like a winning poker player. We teach women+ how to play the game, the game of poker and the game of life, so they can compete and succeed in business, finance, and life — all in a fun, supportive, and safe-to-fail environment. The Poker Power experience offers women+ a place to connect and practice skills and strategies linked to success.
On Thursday February 27, the Women of AIMSE will host an event for female AIMSE members only that will be fun,and will help foster learnings that many of us can take into our work lives and hopefully put us on a path of wanting to continue to improve those skills by learning and practicing the game of Texas Hold’Em.
We will be joined by female allocators and consultants in the Chicago area to partake in this experience with us. A cocktail hour will be followed by direct table instruction by professional female poker players and other Poker Power staff who aim to teach us not only to play the game, but why it’s important.
