Lothrop Award of Excellence
The Association of Investment Marketing and Sales Executives (AIMSE) presents this prestigious award each year to an exemplary individual as recognized by his or her peers at the AIMSE Investment Management Marketing & Sales Conference. This award is named in honor of Richard A. Lothrop, an AIMSE Past President, and a pioneer and innovator in the investment management marketing and sales industry. Richard A. Lothrop is recognized as the founder of AIMSE.
This award is presented each spring at the AIMSE Annual Conference. All AIMSE members are encouraged to submit a nomination for a worthy candidate during the nomination period each year.

Mike Fisher

Mike joined BGI in March 1999. He holds overall management responsibility for the client service, new business development and related administrative support functions for BGI’s U.S. Institutional Business. At year-end 1999, total assets under management worldwide for BGI approximated $800 billion for 1500 clients. The U.S. Institutional Business segment embraced approximately $400 billion and 550 clients. Prior to joining BGI, from 1995 through 1998, Mike was affiliated with Strong Capital Management as Managing Director of the Institutional Business Group. Previously he was Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer with Equitable Life Assurance New York. From 1986 through 1993 he was Managing Director responsible for marketing and new business related functions with the institutional asset management business at Bankers Trust Company. From 1981 until joining Bankers Trust, Mike was Senior Vice President with Chase Investors Management New York. He commenced his career in the financial services business in the early 1960’s while in college and subsequently affiliated with Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company where he was involved with a variety of assignments at both the parent and subsidiary company levels.
Mike holds a BS from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Currently he serves his alma mater as a Trustee and Chair of the endowment fund investment committee. He is a member of the board of directors of World T.E.A.M. Sports and the Dan Jansen Foundation. He is a past president of AIMSE and has attended the AIMSE/Wharton Investment Institute.
