Dear fellow AIMSE Members,

It was great to see so many of you attend the 46th Annual Conference in Arizona last month.  Our co-chairs Charlotte Walsh and Claudette Grant (and their conference committee) put together a terrific conference providing a great agenda with thoughtful content from industry-leading allocators and peers.  The organization extends its gratitude to Charlotte and Claudette for your time, commitment, and passion in delivering such a memorable event.

AIMSE’s post-pandemic growth has taken root – with growing membership, a return to regional events and in-person Conferences, we stand poised to reclaim AIMSE’s progress.  As you know, our organization is only as strong as the individuals who volunteer their valuable time to help AIMSE move forward.  Please find a way to get involved, the more you put into AIMSE, the more you will get out of it, get involved here.

I would like to recognize some key individuals who have helped navigate AIMSE through these last few years:

  •        President Emeritus, Miriam Tai, who led this organization through the post-pandemic period, serving as a steady force for the organization and providing crucial insights and advice, which I leaned on heavily.
  •        Retiring Board Members Tasleem Jamal and Greg Bauer for their leadership and many contributions to the organization from the reinvigorated Partner Relations effort to the Membership Committee.
  •        Finally, I would like to highlight outgoing President Adam Gerentine, for making it look so easy with a steady hand, ready laugh, and calm approach to complex organizational developments.  I enjoyed serving with Adam and I cannot thank him enough for his dedication and leadership.

I am excited to work alongside Matt Pawlak (Vice President) and Christa Maxwell (Treasurer) along with the rest of my fellow Board of Directors including our two newest Board members Molly Giffen and Jennifer Pittman to continue the momentum over the next 12 months.  A special thank you to Sean Clark for zealously leading the Regional Event orchestration and making it one of the first ways members become aware of AIMSE and find a path to getting involved.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting Regional Events taking place throughout the US highlighted by the Fall Conference on October 2nd & 3rd in New York City, and our 47th Annual Conference being held from June 12th to the 14th, 2024 in Boca Raton, FL.  I hope to have an opportunity to speak with you at one of these events.

Lastly, thanks to our behind-the-scenes management organization Virtual, specifically to Britt, Bridget, Jordan, Rhody, Angelina, Stacey and John.  Having a consistent team over the past two years has enabled AIMSE to strengthen our post-COVID offering.  We have great things to do together in the coming year.

I welcome any thoughts, questions, or suggestions on how we can strengthen our organization.  Please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Tony Buscemi
